Details
A vulnerability was found in VITEC Flamingo 4.12.2. It has been classified as very critical. This affects the function passthru of the file admin/ajax/gen_graphs.php of the component Graph Generation. The manipulation of the argument start/end/key/format with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Vitec Flamingo 4.12.2 contains an unauthenticated OS command injection vulnerability in the admin/ajax/gen_graphs.php endpoint that allows remote unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary commands by supplying shell metacharacters in the start, end, key, or format HTTP GET parameters. Attackers can exploit the lack of input sanitization in the graph generation script, which passes user-supplied values directly to shell commands via passthru(), to execute arbitrary OS commands with root privileges due to the web server context having passwordless sudo access.
