Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Dan-in-CA SIP up to 5.2.16. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the component Request Validation. The manipulation of the argument passphrase/port with an unknown input leads to a dynamically-determined object attributes vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-915. The product receives input from an upstream component that specifies multiple attributes, properties, or fields that are to be initialized or updated in an object, but it does not properly control which attributes can be modified. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Sustainable Irrigation Platform (SIP) through version 5.2.16 contains a mass assignment vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to overwrite sensitive configuration settings by supplying arbitrary parameter names in HTTP requests. Attackers can manipulate parameters corresponding to sensitive values such as the passphrase and listening port, and can also achieve the same result through cross-site request forgery due to the absence of adequate request validation.
The advisory is available at zeroscience.mk. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-58477 since 06/30/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 07/14/2026).
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
