CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 7.2-rc2. It has been classified as critical. This affects the function gp2ap002_read_raw of the component iio light gp2ap002. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a release of resource vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-772. The product does not release a resource after its effective lifetime has ended, i.e., after the resource is no longer needed. This is going to have an impact on availability. The summary by CVE is:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: light: gp2ap002: fix runtime PM leak on read error gp2ap002_read_raw() calls pm_runtime_get_sync() before reading the lux value, but if gp2ap002_get_lux() fails, it returns directly. This skips the pm_runtime_put_autosuspend() call at the "out" label, permanently leaking a runtime PM reference and preventing the device from autosuspending. Replace the direct return with a "goto out" to ensure the reference is properly dropped on the error path.

The advisory is shared at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-64494 since 07/19/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 07/25/2026). MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1499 for this issue.
