Format string vulnerability in the IBM Lenovo Access Support acpRunner ActiveX control, as distributed in acpcontroller.dll before 1.2.8.0 and possibly acpir.dll before 1.0.0.9 (Automated Solutions 1.0 before fix pack 1), allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via format string specifiers in unknown data.

The bug was discovered 08/14/2007. The weakness was shared 08/15/2007 by Karl Lynn with Juniper Networks as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). It is possible to read the advisory at kb.cert.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-2928 since 05/30/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
