Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in usmannasir CyberPanel up to 2.4.3. Affected is some unknown functionality of the component File Manager. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
CyberPanel 2.4.3, fixed in commit eca0c3c, contains an arbitrary file read vulnerability in the file manager component that allows authenticated attackers to read sensitive system files by uploading a crafted ZIP archive containing symbolic links. Attackers can exploit the application's failure to validate symlinks before extraction, causing symbolic links targeting arbitrary filesystem paths outside the user's home directory to persist on disk and be accessed through the web interface.
