Details
A vulnerability was found in Microsoft UFO up to 3.0.7. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function execute_command of the file ufo/client/mcp/http_servers/linux_mcp_server.py of the component Linux MCP Server. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a dns rebinding vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-350. The product performs reverse DNS resolution on an IP address to obtain the hostname and make a security decision, but it does not properly ensure that the IP address is truly associated with the hostname. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Microsoft UFO open-source framework for intelligent automation across devices and platforms. Prior to 3.0.8, ufo/client/mcp/http_servers/linux_mcp_server.py binds a FastMCP streamable HTTP server to localhost:8010 but does not validate the Host, Origin, or Sec-Fetch-Site headers. An attacker-controlled web page can use DNS rebinding to reach the local /mcp endpoint, enumerate tool schemas through tools/list, and invoke execute_command with a valid UFO_MCP_API_KEY to read files or execute allowed operating system commands as the victim's user. This issue is fixed in version 3.0.8.
It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-62316 since 07/13/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
