Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in uddigui/navigateTree.do in the UDDI user console in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) before 6.1.0 Fix Pack 13 (6.1.0.13) allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) keyField, (2) nameField, (3) valueField, and (4) frameReturn parameters.
The weakness was released 08/01/2007 (Website). The advisory is shared at www-1.ibm.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2007-5798 since 11/02/2007. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 27803 (IBM WebSphere Application Server navigateTree.do Multiple Vulnerabilities), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. Upgrading to version 6.1.0.12 eliminates this vulnerability.
