A vulnerability has been found in Wireshark 0.99.6 (Packet Analyzer Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component PPP Dissector. The bug was discovered 11/22/2007. The weakness was published 11/23/2007 by Stefan Esser with Beyond Security (Website). The advisory is shared for download at wireshark.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-6112 since 11/23/2007. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
