The HPInfoDLL.HPInfo.1 ActiveX control in HPInfoDLL.dll 1.0, as shipped with HP Info Center (hpinfocenter.exe) 1.0.1.1 in HP Quick Launch Button (QLBCTRL.exe, aka QLB) 6.3 and earlier, allows remote attackers to read arbitrary registry values via the arguments to the GetRegValue method.
The weakness was shared 12/13/2007 by porkythepig (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-6333 since 12/13/2007. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.
