Unspecified vulnerability in Apple QuickTime before 7.4 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application termination) and execute arbitrary code via a movie file with Image Descriptor (IDSC) atoms containing an invalid atom size, which triggers memory corruption.

The bug was discovered 01/15/2008. The weakness was disclosed 01/15/2008 by Cody Pierce with TippingPoint (Website). The advisory is available at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2008-0033 since 01/03/2008. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
