The XInput extension in X.Org Xserver before 1.4.1 allows context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary code via requests related to byte swapping and heap corruption within multiple functions, a different vulnerability than CVE-2007-4990.
The bug was discovered 01/17/2008. The weakness was released 01/18/2008 by regenrecht with CERT/CC (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-6427 since 12/18/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
