Opera before 9.26 allows user-assisted remote attackers to read arbitrary files by tricking a user into typing the characters of the target filename into a file input.
The bug was discovered 02/20/2008. The weakness was shared 02/28/2008 with Mozilla (Website). The advisory is shared for download at opera.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2008-1080 since 02/28/2008. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
