Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Apple Safari before 3.1, when running on Windows XP or Vista, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a crafted URL that is not properly handled in the error page.
The bug was discovered 03/18/2008. The weakness was released 03/18/2008 by Robert Swiecki with Google (Website). The advisory is shared for download at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2008-1001 since 02/26/2008. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
