Details
A vulnerability was found in MIT Kerberos 1.6.3 Kdc (Network Authentication Software). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown functionality of the component Error Message Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Impacted is confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
The Kerberos 4 support in KDC in MIT Kerberos 5 (krb5kdc) does not properly clear the unused portion of a buffer when generating an error message, which might allow remote attackers to obtain sensitive information, aka "Uninitialized stack values."
