Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in makeplane Plane up to 1.3.x. Affected by this issue is the function WorkspaceJoinEndpoint of the component WorkSpaceMemberInviteSerializer. The manipulation of the argument slug/pk with an unknown input leads to a access control vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-284. The product does not restrict or incorrectly restricts access to a resource from an unauthorized actor. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Plane is an open-source project management tool. Prior to 1.4.0, self-hosted Plane deployments allow unauthenticated GET requests to api/workspaces/{slug}/invitations/{pk}/join/ through WorkspaceJoinEndpoint, whose WorkSpaceMemberInviteSerializer exposes the secret invitation token directly and through get_invite_link. An external attacker can retrieve a token intended for another user and submit it to the invitation acceptance flow, joining the workspace without receiving the invitation and gaining the role assigned to the invite. This issue is fixed in version 1.4.0.
The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-102981 since 09/29/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
Upgrading to version 1.4.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
