Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Makeplane Plane up to 1.3.x. This affects the function order_issue_queryset of the file apps/api/plane/utils/order_queryset.py of the component Issue List Endpoint. The manipulation of the argument order_by with an unknown input leads to a information exposure vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-209. The product generates an error message that includes sensitive information about its environment, users, or associated data. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
Plane is an open-source project management tool. Prior to 1.4.0, multiple issue-listing endpoints, including unauthenticated public deploy boards handled by IssueListSpaceEndpoint in apps/api/plane/space/views/issue.py, pass the user-controlled order_by parameter through order_issue_queryset in apps/api/plane/utils/order_queryset.py to Django's order_by without allowlist validation. An attacker can use double-underscore relationship traversal to reference arbitrary related model fields, revealing database schema details through errors and potentially disclosing field values through differential ordering. This issue is fixed in version 1.4.0.
The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-102988 since 09/29/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
