A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Oracle Database Server 9.0.1.5 (Database Software). Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the component Core RDBMS. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. Multiple unspecified vulnerabilities in Oracle Database 9.0.1.5 FIPS+, 9.2.0.8, 9.2.0.8DV, 10.1.0.5, 10.2.0.3, and 11.1.0.6 have unknown impact and remote attack vectors related to (1) SDO_IDX in the Spatial component, aka DB07; and (2) Core RDBMS, aka DB10. NOTE: the previous information was obtained from the Oracle CPU. Oracle has not commented on reliable researcher claims that DB07 is SQL injection.

The weakness was presented 04/16/2008 (Website). The advisory is available at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2008-1817. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. Required for exploitation is a simple authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 07/31/2021). This vulnerability is assigned to T1505 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 56060 (Oracle Database Multiple Vulnerabilities (April 2008 CPU)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Databases. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 19232 (Oracle April 2008 Security Update Multiple Vulnerabilities).
