Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in OpenReception Appointment Booking Software up to 2.2.1. It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. Impacted is integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

OpenReception's appointment booking software provides an end-to-end encrypted appointment booking platform. Prior to version 2.2.2, an attacker overbooks an agent, placing multiple appointments into a single time slot that the system is designed to keep exclusive. The number of overlapping appointments equals the number of concurrent requests, and one booking token is enough because the token is consumed after the insert. This results in the integrity of the booking-calendar breaking and availability being denied to other clients. This issue has been patched in version 2.2.2.

The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-75524 since 08/17/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.

Upgrading to version 2.2.2 eliminates this vulnerability.
