Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in OpenReception Appointment Booking Software up to 2.2.0. This affects some unknown processing. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a authentication replay vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-294. A capture-replay flaw exists when the design of the product makes it possible for a malicious user to sniff network traffic and bypass authentication by replaying it to the server in question to the same effect as the original message (or with minor changes). This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
OpenReception's appointment booking software provides an end-to-end encrypted appointment booking platform. Prior to version 2.2.1, an attacker who captures a pending invite token can replay it to obtain a passkey-registration credential and register their own passkey on the invited account, taking control of that account. For a staff or tenant-admin invite this yields access to the tenant context tied to that account. This issue has been patched in version 2.2.1.
The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-65824 since 07/23/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1040 for this issue.
