Untrusted search path vulnerability in a certain Red Hat build script for OpenOffice.org (OOo) 1.1.x on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 3 and 4 allows local users to gain privileges via a malicious library in the current working directory, related to incorrect quoting of the ORIGIN symbol for use in the RPATH library path.

The bug was discovered 06/09/2008. The weakness was presented 06/16/2008 with Red Hat as Bug 450532 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.redhat.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-2366 since 05/21/2008. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592.004 for this issue.
