Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in SQLite up to 3.54.1. Affected is an unknown code block of the file ext/recover/sqlite3recover.c of the component Recover Command. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-77. The product constructs all or part of a command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SQLite command-line shell through 3.54.1 contains a command injection vulnerability in the .recover command that emits attacker-planted dot-commands stored in sqlite_schema.sql values verbatim. Attackers can craft a database whose schema holds a valid CREATE statement followed by a .shell or .system line, executing OS commands when victims pipe .recover output into sqlite3.
