Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Control Web Panel up to 1.15. This affects the function shell_exec of the component Phpini Editor. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Control Web Panel (CWP) before webpanel_version 1.16 contains an arbitrary file write and OS command injection vulnerability in the phpini_editor user panel module. The acc=update action writes attacker-controlled content to an attacker-supplied path via file_put_contents with no path confinement, and the acc=addlabelphpiniadv action passes unsanitized attacker input into shell_exec without escaping. An attacker with access to the module can write arbitrary files and execute arbitrary OS commands, resulting in remote code execution.
