Details
A vulnerability has been found in Control Web Panel up to 1.11 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function unauthenticatedFlow of the component User Panel. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a redirect vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-601. A web application accepts a user-controlled input that specifies a link to an external site, and uses that link in a Redirect. This simplifies phishing attacks. As an impact it is known to affect integrity. CVE summarizes:
Control Web Panel (CWP) before webpanel_version 1.12 contains an execution after redirect vulnerability in the user panel authentication flow, where CWPUserIndex's unauthenticatedFlow() calls toLoginWithIntendedUri() which emits a redirect header without exit(), allowing PHP execution to continue and the module dispatcher include to run without authentication. Attackers with nothing more than a valid hosting username can bypass authentication to reach user-panel module code paths, enabling a pre-authentication chain to root access.
