Details
A vulnerability was found in koxudaxi fastapi-code-generator up to 0.8.0 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown part of the component Route-Handler Docstring. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-94. The product constructs all or part of a code segment using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the syntax or behavior of the intended code segment. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
fastapi-code-generator creates FastAPI applications from OpenAPI files. Prior to 0.8.1, the generator inserts Operation.summary into a generated route-handler docstring as a triple-double-quoted string without escaping embedded triple quotes. An attacker-controlled or attacker-influenced operation summary can close the docstring and inject a valid Python expression statement into the handler body. Syntax-breaking input only causes generation to fail, but syntactically valid generated code executes with the server process's privileges when the affected route handler is called. This call-time route-handler docstring sink is distinct from the project's separate import-time route-path and additional-response-key sinks. This issue is fixed in version 0.8.1.
The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-63470 since 07/16/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
Upgrading to version 0.8.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
