A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, has been found in Macrovision Flexnet Connect 6.0. This issue affects an unknown function in the library isusweb.dll of the component ActiveX Control. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The InstallShield Update Service Agent ActiveX control in isusweb.dll allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and browser crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a call to ExecuteRemote with a URL that results in a 404 error response.
The bug was discovered 09/18/2008. The weakness was presented 09/18/2008 as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is shared at kb.cert.org.
