A vulnerability has been found in Opera Web Browser up to 7.19 (Web Browser) and classified as problematic. As an impact it is known to affect integrity. The summary by CVE is:
Opera before 9.52, when rendering an http page that has loaded an https page into a frame, displays a padlock icon and offers a security information dialog reporting a secure connection, which might allow remote attackers to trick a user into performing unsafe actions on the http page.
The bug was discovered 08/20/2008. The weakness was released 09/27/2008 by Michael A. Puls II (Website). The advisory is shared at openwall.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2008-4198 since 09/23/2008. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
