A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Sentex jhead up to 2.82. This issue affects the function DoCommand. The manipulation of the argument -cmd with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Impacted is availability. Buffer overflow in the DoCommand function in jhead before 2.84 might allow context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via (1) a long -cmd argument and (2) unspecified vectors related to "a bunch of potential string overflows."
