A vulnerability was found in Mozilla Firefox 8.0 for Mac (Web Browser). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown part of the component DOM. Mozilla Firefox before 9.0, Thunderbird before 9.0, and SeaMonkey before 2.6 on Mac OS X do not properly handle certain DOM frame deletions by plugins, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (incorrect pointer dereference and application crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted web site.
The weakness was disclosed 12/20/2011 as MFSA2011-57 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at mozilla.org. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with Mozilla.
