A vulnerability was found in Trend Micro ServerProtect 5.7/5.58 (Anti-Malware Software). It has been declared as very critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the component RPC Interface. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Heap-based buffer overflow in an unspecified procedure in Trend Micro ServerProtect 5.7 and 5.58 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via unknown vectors, probably related to an RPC interface.
The bug was discovered 11/11/2008. The weakness was disclosed 11/17/2008 with IBM X-Force as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is shared for download at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-5269 since 10/13/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The current price for an exploit might be approx.
