The m_stop function in fs/proc/task_mmu.c in the Linux kernel before 2.6.39 allows local users to cause a denial of service (OOPS) via vectors that trigger an m_start error.
The weakness was shared 01/10/2012 as not defined posting (Red Hat Security Advisory). The advisory is shared for download at rhn.redhat.com. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-3637 since 09/21/2011. The exploitation is known to be easy.
