A vulnerability was found in MediaWiki (Content Management System). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block of the component Installation. MediaWiki 1.8.1, and other versions before 1.13.3, when the wgShowExceptionDetails variable is enabled, sometimes provides the full installation path in a debugging message, which might allow remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via unspecified requests that trigger an uncaught exception.
The bug was discovered 12/15/2008. The weakness was published 12/19/2008 (Website). The advisory is available at redhat.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2008-5688 since 12/19/2008.
