Red Hat Certificate System 7.2 uses world-readable permissions for password.conf and unspecified other configuration files, which allows local users to discover passwords by reading these files.

The bug was discovered 01/15/2009. The weakness was released 01/20/2009 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at rhn.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2008-2367 since 05/21/2008. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally.
