A vulnerability was found in Apache Struts 2.0.14/2.2.3 (Programming Tool Software). It has been classified as critical. Affected is an unknown code of the component struts2-rest-showcase/orders. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Apache Struts 2.0.14 and 2.2.3 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) name or (2) lastName parameter to struts2-showcase/person/editPerson.action, or the (3) clientName parameter to struts2-rest-showcase/orders.
The bug was discovered 07/21/2011. The weakness was released 02/01/2012 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. The public release happened without coordination with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2012-1006 since 02/06/2012. The exploitability is told to be easy.
