Buffer overflow in VUPlayer 2.49 and earlier allows user-assisted attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long URL in a File line in a .pls file, as demonstrated by an http URL on a File1 line.

The bug was discovered 01/07/2009. The weakness was presented 01/20/2009 by Greg Linares (Expanders) (Website). The advisory is shared for download at milw0rm.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2009-0182 since 01/20/2009. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
