The bug was discovered 02/10/2009. The weakness was presented 02/10/2009 by Bing Liu with Fortinet (Website). The advisory is shared at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2009-0097 since 01/08/2009. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
