WSPolicy in the Web Services component in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 7.0.x before 7.0.0.1 does not properly recognize the IDAssertion.isUsed binding property, which allows local users to discover a password by reading a SOAP message.
The bug was discovered 02/12/2009. The weakness was released 02/17/2009 (Website). The advisory is available at www-01.ibm.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2009-0504 since 02/10/2009. The exploitation is known to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
