WebKit, as used in Apple iTunes before 10.6, allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) via vectors related to iTunes Store browsing, a different vulnerability than other CVEs listed in APPLE-SA-2012-03-07-1.
The weakness was published 03/07/2012 by Abhishek Arya (Inferno) with Google Chrome Security Team as HT5191 as confirmed knowledge base article (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The public release has been coordinated with Apple. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2012-0638 since 01/12/2012. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. A authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available.
It is declared as proof-of-concept.
