A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Apple Mac OS X up to 10.5.0 (Operating System). This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the component CFNetwork. CFNetwork in Apple Mac OS X 10.5 before 10.5.7 does not properly parse noncompliant Set-Cookie headers, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information by sniffing the network for "secure cookies" that are sent over unencrypted HTTP connections.
The bug was discovered 05/12/2009. The weakness was published 05/13/2009 by Sebastian Apelt (Website). The advisory is shared for download at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability was named CVE-2009-0144 since 01/16/2009. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
