CFNetwork in Apple Safari before 4.0 misinterprets downloaded image files as local HTML documents in unspecified circumstances, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript code by placing it in an image file.
The bug was discovered 06/08/2009. The weakness was shared 06/08/2009 by Shadow with Recurity Labs (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2009-1704 since 05/20/2009. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
