The Web Services fat client for BEA WebLogic Server and Express 7.0 SP4 and earlier, when using 2-way SSL and multiple certificates to connect to the same URL, may use the incorrect identity after the first connection, which could allow users to gain privileges.

The bug was discovered 01/27/2004. The weakness was disclosed 01/27/2004 by BEA Systems with BEA http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/9502/exploit/ (Website). The advisory is shared for download at dev2dev.bea.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2004-1755 since 03/10/2005. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.

The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 87201 (Oracle WebLogic Server SSL Client Privilege Escalation Vulnerability (BEA04-47.00)).
