A vulnerability was found in phpAuction 3.2/3.3.0 (Auction Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function phpinfo of the file phpinfo.php. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a information disclosure vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-200. phpAuction 3.2, and possibly 3.3.0 GPL Basic edition, allows remote attackers to obtain configuration information via a direct request to phpinfo.php, which calls the phpinfo function.
The bug was discovered 09/06/2008. The weakness was published 09/06/2008 by Beenu Arora (Website). The advisory is shared at osvdb.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-6999 since 08/17/2009. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
