Opera before 10.00 does not properly display all characters in Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) in the address bar, which allows remote attackers to spoof URLs and conduct phishing attacks, related to Unicode and Punycode.
The weakness was released 09/02/2009 by Dan Kaminsky with Casaba Security (Website). The advisory is shared for download at opera.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2009-3049. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
