A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, was found in HP OpenView Network Node Manager 7.53 (Network Management Software). This affects an unknown code block of the file nnmRptConfig.exe. The manipulation of the argument Oid with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Multiple stack-based buffer overflows in HP OpenView Network Node Manager (OV NNM) 7.01, 7.51, and 7.53 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via (1) a long Template parameter to nnmRptConfig.exe, related to the strcat function; or (2) a long Oid parameter to snmp.exe.
