Multiple integer signedness errors in the (1) __get_argv and (2) __get_compat_argv functions in tapset/aux_syscalls.stp in SystemTap 1.1 allow local users to cause a denial of service (script crash, or system crash or hang) via a process with a large number of arguments, leading to a buffer overflow.

The weakness was shared 02/08/2010 as Bug 559719 as confirmed bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2010-0411 since 01/27/2010. The exploitability is told to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
