A vulnerability was found in Zikula Application Framework 1.2.2 and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown function of the file index.php. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Zikula Application Framework 1.2.2, and possibly earlier, allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) func parameter to index.php, or the (2) lang parameter to index.php, which is not properly handled by ZLanguage.php.
The weakness was published 04/27/2010 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-1724. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The exploit is available at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:index.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 47493 (Fedora 13 : zikula-1.2.3-1.fc13 (2010-8501)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Fedora Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 118283 (Fedora Update for Zikula (FEDORA-2010-8501)).
