Directory traversal vulnerability in Free Download Manager (FDM) before 3.0.852 allows remote attackers to create arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences in the name attribute of a file element in a metalink file.
The weakness was disclosed 05/13/2010 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2010-0999. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1006 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
