The (1) mod_cache and (2) mod_dav modules in the Apache HTTP Server 2.2.x before 2.2.16 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (process crash) via a request that lacks a path.
The weakness was released 07/28/2010 with Apache Software Foundation (Website). The advisory is available at marc.info. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-1452 since 04/15/2010. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
