A vulnerability classified as very critical has been found in Apple Safari up to 5.0 (Web Browser). Affected is an unknown code. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. WebKit in Apple Safari before 5.0.1 on Mac OS X 10.5 through 10.6 and Windows, and before 4.1.1 on Mac OS X 10.4; and webkitgtk before 1.2.6; allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) via vectors related to the rendering of an inline element.
The weakness was presented 07/30/2010 by Natalie Silvanovich (team509) with University of Szeged (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2010-1782. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $25k-$100k at the moment (estimation calculated on 09/21/2021).
