The (1) setup-ds.pl and (2) setup-ds-admin.pl setup scripts for Red Hat Directory Server 8 before 8.2 use world-readable permissions when creating cache files, which allows local users to obtain sensitive information including passwords for Directory and Administration Server administrative accounts.

The weakness was released 08/04/2010 as Bug 608032 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-2241. The exploitation is known to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
