Google Chrome before 6.0.472.53 does not properly implement SVG filters, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via unknown vectors, related to a "stale pointer" issue.

The weakness was presented 09/07/2010 by Sergey Glazunov (Lostmon) with Casaba Security (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at googlechromereleases.blogspot.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2010-3249. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
